Manitoba Entry-Level Training Grant - Agriculture Sector
We are no longer accepting applications.
As part of the Manitoba government’s commitment to public safety, mandatory entry-level training for commercial truck drivers was implemented Sept. 1, 2019 with a deferral of new training requirements for the agriculture sector to March 1, 2021.
To assist the agriculture sector to meet these new requirements, Manitoba is providing funding support to employers to help cover the cost of training of both new and existing workers.
Grant funding is a temporary measure to assist the agriculture sector to comply with the new safety regulations. Funding is limited and once fully expended, the grant will no longer be available.
Funding may be used to support Mandatory Entry Level Training (MELT) (121.5 hours) or Professional Truck Driver Training (244 hours). MELT training must be delivered by a registered driving school approved by Manitoba Public Insurance.
